Transport

Getting around Melbourne is easy, choose between tram, bike, taxi, bus, train or shuttle to get you to your destination.

For detailed information and timetables for trains, trams and busses, visit the Public Transport Victoria website.

Melbourne Visitor Shuttle

Use the Melbourne Visitor Shuttle as a way to explore the city.  There are 13 stops where you can hop on and off while listening to the audio commentary learning about the past and the present. The stops include Chinatown precinct, the docklands and Southbank.

Tram

One of the best ways to see is the city is by tram. Travel within the central area of Melbourne by tram is free, though you will need a myki card if you plan to start or finish your journey outside of this central area. There is also the City Circle Tram in the CBD, which is also completely free and a great way to see a number of attractions with a running commentary.

There are two stops outside the Convention Centre and one stop at the Exhibition Centre.

TRAIN

Flinders Street Station and Southern Cross Station are only 15 minutes walk from the MCEC.

Bike

Why not have some fun and hire a bike for the day to see the city. With the Melbourne Bike Share you can hire a bike and travel from one end of the city to the other, returning your bike at one of the many docking stations. You can also go on a bike tour, such as Freddy's Bike Tours and Rentals, as another way to get around.
