With a reputation for the most awe-inspiring hair shows in Australia, Hair Expo’s gala nights offer the chance to see some of the world’s most talented hair stylists at work. This year is set to surpass any other, with two international hairdressing superstars headed to Sydney for the June extravaganza.
Firstly, AVEDA Global Creative Director, Antoinette Beenders, will hit the stage at Hair Expo’s Saturday night Opening Gala. Known for her fiercely original, conceptual and imaginative work, she is one of the industry’s most highly regarded stylists, with a list of celebrity clients as long as her impressive resume. Antoinette’s skills have been honed during hundreds of editorial shoots and runway shows throughout her career, for designers such as Alexander McQueen, Miu Miu and Dolce & Gabbana, to name but a few.
On her last visit to Hair Expo in 2004, Antoinette’s spectacular show included models suspended from the ceiling in pods, with conceptual hairstyles like no other. Not only did she receive a standing ovation from the crowd, but the show is now credited as one of the best Hair Expo performances in the history of the event.
Sunday’s Generation Next Gala sees an artist of equally impressive stature headlining, in TIGI International Creative Director, Anthony Mascolo. He too is one of the icons of modern hairdressing, with the passion and creativity to match his technical ability.
One of the founders of TIGI, Anthony is an entrepreneurial and creative legend – very few personalities possess his scope of influence on both his brand and artistic vision. He has the reputation for being able to truly unify hair and fashion in photographic collections and on the catwalk, where directional runway looks collide with avant-garde artistic creations. Having also previously graced the stage at Hair Expo, Anthony’s shows are multi-sensory experiences that have captivated audiences worldwide.
Both driving forces in the industry, Antoinette and Anthony will give ticket holders the chance to see two truly prestigious hairdressers in their element. With tickets already selling fast, the gala night shows are set to be sell-out performances and are certainly not to be missed.
