Does it cost to enter?
No there is no entry fee.
Do I need to complete one form per person?
Yes. That person may then enter several categories on the one form.
In Australian Hairdresser of the Year, I know it has to be wearable and commercial, however can it slightly be editorial?

Do you provide a model release sheet or do we provide our own model release form?
We will provide your model release form and any other declarations that are required to be signed for your submission.
Can one person enter one category twice?
You can only enter each category once.
I have heard that Hair Expo provides a Questionnaire this year. Do I need to provide anything else apart from the photographic collection?
Each category outlines in the Questionnaire the supporting documentation required by you. Please refer to the submission details and category requirements for further information.
Can I enter more than one category?
You can however there are a few exceptions. You CANNOT enter both Australian Hairdresser of the Year and New Creative Force. If you are considering entering Apprentice of the Year, this will be the only category you qualify for.
Can I enter the Photographic Collection of the Year?
All submissions will be automatically entered into this category.
I want to enter Session Stylist of the Year. Can I just do a photographic shoot and submit these images?
You can enter however your photographic collection requires you to submit six photographs that represent six separate stories, of which four have been published during the awards period.
Can you remind me what I need to send in to complete my submission?
You must include the printed Questionnaire (finished document), combined with your Photographic Collection as required based on the categories entered. All submissions must be received by 5pm, Monday 2 March 2009.
The photographic collection for Salon Team, does it have to be one collection?
The photographic collection can be photographed as a stand alone collection or a combination of images from current submissions to form “a collection”.
Can I have a male model for my photographic collection?
Yes you can.
Does a model release form need to be signed by every model?
Yes, it must be signed by every model. If you need to fax or post the form to a model interstate or overseas please do so, not every model needs to have signed the same form, you may have multiple forms.
I would like to enter the Apprentice of the Year, but am not an apprentice on 10th March 2009, can I still enter?
Yes you can, you must have been an apprentice for approximately 70% of the awards period.
To enter the Australian Hairdresser of the Year category, do you still need to complete 16 hours on the floor?
No, there is no longer a minimum number of hours required.
I finished my Apprenticeship at the end of 2008, can I still enter?
You must have been an Apprentice for 70% of the awards period, (1st April 2008 – 10th March 2009).
